🎭 Concerts and Shows in Xishuangbanna

The legendary Water Splashing Festival — held annually around April 13-16 (Tibetan/Thai calendar) — is one of Southeast Asia's biggest celebrations. Three days of water throwing, Dai dance performances, elephant shows, lantern releases, and all-night parties.

Daily performances featuring Asian elephants, traditional Dai dances, and re-enactments of local legends at the major wildlife and cultural parks. Family-friendly and spectacular.

Evening cultural shows at the Dai Royal Garden complex — traditional Dai dances, water splashing rituals, and re-enactments of Dai court life. Usually performed at dusk daily.

Seasonal evening performances in Manting Park — traditional Dai music, Bamboo dance (竹竿舞), and Buddhist chanting in the temple grounds. Especially atmospheric during the Water Splashing Festival period.

A major secondary festival — fire dancing, torch processions, and water-themed performances. Usually held in February/March. Less crowded than the April festival.

Growing bar scene along the Lancang River waterfront — live music venues with local Dai and Yunnan musicians, riverside seating, and tropical cocktails.
